Exam Information
Final Exam Schedule
The final exam schedule is located on the UNMSOL web site. Policies and procedures governing exams are located under Academics on the law school web site.
Examination Procedures
The UNM School of Law uses an anonymous grading system. Every semester students are assigned a unique number to be used in lieu of the student’s name on exams. When taking exams students may opt to type or write in designated classrooms. The Student Code of Conduct governs all aspects of this process.
Exams are administered by the Law School Registar.
Reading Period
Before examinations, a period of time is devoted to study and review. Faculty are available during this time to consult with students and to conduct optional review sessions.
First-Year Practice Exams
Fall semester exams are designed to familiarize new law students with testing procedures and to give instructors the opportunity to counsel students regarding their performance. These exams are typically scheduled in early October and do not count toward final course grades.
Mid-Term Examinations
A faculty member may structure a course such that interim or mid-term examinations are administered and the exam grades earned are included in the calculation of the final course grade. Regular examination procedures must be followed. It is recommended that faculty make sure that mid-terms do not conflict with other student obligations or courses.
Exams Using Laptops
Students may take tests using Exam4 software.
Samples of "A" Exams
Samples of "A" exams are available on the Intranet under the Exams section.
